We train over 1200 students annually in Hairstyling, Esthetics and Fashion Design. At MC College, we empower future professionals for the Beauty and Fashion Industry with skills to change their lives and enjoy rewarding careers.

Our Community

Doing the right thing not only starts in the classroom but also in the communities we operate in. At MC College, we lead by example. We are a proud supporter of many community events and charities through hosting fundraisers, sponsorships and scholarship opportunities. As part of MC Life, students and staff volunteer their time at various events in the form of in-kind services. Our campuses have volunteered at not for profits such as Okanagan Pride, Hair Massacure, Youth Empowerment and Support Service, WIN House, Princess Shop, Calgary Catholic Immigration Society, Ronald McDonald House, Youth HQ to name a few.

Our Corporate Team

Joe Cairo

Joe grew up in the hair and beauty industry, mentored by his father, Frank Cairo, champion stylist, salon owner and previous owner of MC College. Joe added to his education with a BA in Political Science and over 27 years in the college industry. Joe was Director of Operations for 6 years before becoming President of MC College. He shares his knowledge and experience by giving back to the industries, sectors & communities he serves. He currently sits on the boards of the Allied Beauty Association (ABA) and The Youth Empowerment and Support Services (YESS) in Edmonton. Joe was previously Chair of the Alberta Association of Career Colleges (AACC) and board member of the National Association of Career Colleges (NACC). He has also mentored young entrepreneurs as along time member of The Entrepreneurs Organization (EO). Joe’s goal is to inspire our students with the entrepreneurial spirit and by providing the tools necessary to cultivate their own financially rewarding careers.

Cheryl Harrison

Cheryl Harrison has a Bachelors Degree from the University of Alberta. She has been with MC College Group for over 25 years. Throughout her career with MC College, she has worked in a variety of positions within the company including Enrolment Coordinator, Administrator and School Director. In her capacity as C.O.O. / Vice President, Cheryl is responsible for ensuring a quality educational experience is delivered at the six MC College Campuses. She oversees all aspects of school operations and works hard to create a culture of commitment to MC Graduate Success. Cheryl also acts as the Chair of the Alberta Association of Career Colleges.
