Tammy Wells, Education Coordinator
A graduate of the University of Alberta’s Clothing and Textiles department, Tammy shares more than 25 years experience in the fashion industry with her students. Her background includes retail, design, garment manufacturing and fashion media. In the past, she has been the Fashion Editor of The Edmonton Sun newspaper, a freelance magazine writer and a radio show host of Fashion Talk. Another career highlight for Tammy – being the host of her own television show Thimbles & Threads.
Her real passion is sewing – so it’s fitting that Tammy teaches pattern drafting, industry techniques for garment construction and pattern grading. In the fashion lab, she enjoys helping students transform their ideas into professional garments that are ready to hang on store racks. For Tammy, it’s all about making designs work one stitch at a time! |
